Rex's favorite recipe

Apple Smiles

(Allergy Warning!)

Ingredients:

Apple

Peanut Butter

Minature Marshmallows

To make it:

Cut apples into wedges. Smear peanut butter one side of 2 wedges. Stick a few marshmallows on the peanut butter on one of the apple wedges and place the other appple wedge on top, peanut butter side down, like a sandwich. Now when you look at it from the side, it looks like a smile, the red part of the apple is the lips and the marshmallows are the teeth :)

It was just another day at the library. The librarian was in her normal spot, typing quietly on her computer. All the littler animals were quietly sitting enjoying a great book.

That was UNTIL Rex cam into the library. Rex was always so so SO SO LOUD! He would come in and stomp around, and Rex always preferred to walk while he read. All the other animals in the library would get mad and leave. For they liked silence.

one day Mrs. Apple-green, the librarian had enough. She called Rex over to her desk and said, "Why don't you try some slippers instead?"

Rex thought about Mrs. Apple-greens idea. "No way Mrs. Apple-green I could never wear slippers." Mrs. Apple-green just shook her head as Rex stomped off.

Everyday Rex came to the library and stomped around. And everyday all the little animals left. As each day passed fewer and fewer animals came to the library.

Rex came to the library one bright and sunny afternoon. When he walked through the doors, he got a BIG surprise. There was only one little panda bear reading a magazine. Rex was sad, he had no friends there.

Mrs. Apple-green called Rex over. She held up a brand new pair of purple slippers! Rex got the biggest grin on his face and took the slipers. Ever so carefully he put them on his feet. He stomped around the library, but made no sound.

Then from everyday on Rex wore his new slippers. Whenever he stomped into the library no sound could be heard, and when he came to the library he thanked Mrs. Apple-green, because since the library was sooooo.....quiet all the little animals returned even Rex's friends.
